I had a great reading week...
- I read Everlost by Neal Shusterman, a wonderful teen/YA book about kids who are killed in a car crash and end up in Everlost, a sort of way station between life and death. My 14-year old son has been telling me how great this book is for awhile now - I'm glad I finally had a chance to read it!
- I started Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah, lent to me by my neighbor last week. It's a novel that follows the friendship of two women, starting when they meet at 14. It's one of those books that pulls you in so much that you think about the characters all the time! I've been carrying it around with me and reading it every chance I get.
I had to let "Firefly Lane" unfinished. It was way too depressing for me. Hope you have better luck!
ReplyDeleteI'll be interested to hear what you think of Firefly Lane. The only other Kristin Hannah book I've read was True Colors, and although it didn't really work for me, there was enough about it I liked that I want to try another book by her, but I want one that has been specifically recommended!
ReplyDeleteI have heard great things about Firefly Lane -- I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI read Firefly Lane a few months ago and liked it. A little predictable but a good story.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week!
Don't you just love books that pull you so quickly--where picking it up to read you get right back in to the storyline without any effort? I hope to read your review of Firefly Lane. I think it is sitting on my shelf to read too! ;)
