Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Melinda at
West Metro Mommy Reads.
For today's post, I thought I'd follow Melinda's lead from a few weeks ago (yes, behind, as usual!) and
pay tribute to our National Parks. In fact, over the next few weeks for Saturday Snapshot, I plan to pay tribute to all of our beautiful federally protected lands, including National Parks, National Forests, National Seashores, and more.
We love all of these places and for over 25 years have devoted our family vacations to visiting them. It's our favorite kind of vacation - camping in a National Park or other protected area, surrounded by the beauty of nature. It's so rejuvenating!
With so many vacations' worth of photos to choose from, I will hit them regionally, so this week is National Lands of New England week! Here are some highlights of some of our favorite places in New England:

Cape Cod National Seashore |

The rocky shores of Acadia NP - one of our favorite places! |

Coosauk Falls - White Mtns National Forest |
Hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend - 67 here in Delaware today, so I plan to get outside!
I also love National Parks...living only a short ways away from Yosemite, it was our go-to place in my childhood...but we also visited Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, and a few others along the way.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope they stay safe!
Thanks for sharing...and here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST
Me, too, Laurel! We love National Parks & have been to those you mentioned....and more!
DeleteSo beautiful! The New England area is one part of the United States that I haven't explored. Looks like there's a lot of beauty to see there. Thanks for sharing your lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful, Sandra! Acadia is one of our favorite places on earth :) I love its rocky shores. And we did a half dozen different waterfall hikes in the White Mtns - it is filled with them!
DeleteWhat great pictures! I lived in New England for 3 years and never made it to a single National Park there!
ReplyDeleteOh, what a shame! You'll have to go back :) We used to always go out West, to visit family in OK & SD and visit parks along the way & beyond but once the kids got older & we couldn't squeeze in 3 full weeks anymore, we started taking them to the closer parks, within a day or two's drive :)
DeleteGorgeous pictures as always Sue. You always visit such beautiful places. I don't get out into nature nearly enough- walking the dogs in my local park is about the most I manage much of the time. I'll look forward to your National Park series.
ReplyDeleteWe love to visit state & national parks - such gorgeous & varied scenery!
DeleteGlad you at least get out with your dogs! Try a different local park one day, just for fun :)
Some amazing scenery. What beautiful places you have visited.
ReplyDeleteThis is our favorite kind of vacation!
