Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Melinda at West Metro Mommy Reads.
Like everyone else on the East Coast, here in Delaware, we were slammed with 2 Nor'Easter storms in a row recently...with another coming this way on Sunday and Monday! We got mostly rain and sleet in the first one, but with incredibly high winds (gusts up to 50 mph). Sadly, we lost most of a tree in our front yard. The second Nor'Easter brought LOTS of snow - over 10 inches, which is a lot for us. Here's a photo recap:
High winds in storm #1 brought down most of our tree. |
Yikes - no coming back from this one :( |
Storm #2 brought a lot of wet snow - nice day for a walk! |
Our house in the snow. |
About 10 " fell & everything was covered in white... |
...just 3 hours later, that scene looked different - blue sky & snow melting! |
This garden had snowdrops in bloom & daffodil shoots coming up just a few days ago... |
Sorry about the loss of your tree, but at least it didn't fall on your house or car! I hope this next storm isn't as strong.
ReplyDeleteMy Saturday post: Kauai Beaches.
Very true, Sandra! We have that to be thankful for - we saw LOTS of horrible pics on the news of huge trees that feel on houses & cars, including one just a mile from our house!
DeleteThose storms seemed CRAZY! I am glad to hear you are safe even though you lost trees.
ReplyDeleteThey were! Two in a week is very unusual - three even more so! Looking now like we might miss most of #3.
DeleteWell now I know where east of us means-as I am in PA!! I am sorry about your tree,10 inches of snow is a whole lot!! The snow pictures are pretty though.
ReplyDeleteI hope things are better for you this week!!
Did you get hit hard by the storm, Joann? I think most of it was closer to the coast. Thanks!
DeleteOh, dear, I'm glad you are ok even though the trees aren't. We had a storm come through and I saw some very similar damage close to Mt Taranaki.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Betty! Storm #3 passed today with no problems, thank goodness.
DeleteWe are so sick of severe weather as well. 3-Nor'Easters in 11 days but, fortunately we never lost power.
ReplyDeleteAnd #4 is heading this way now! We have also been lucky not to lose power - let's hope our luck holds for us both!
