Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Melinda at West Metro Mommy Reads.
I haven't posted on Saturday for a while because we have been very busy, with grown sons home for the summer, family stuff, and travel. We made two trips to New York State on two consecutive weekends. I love my home state (I grew up in Rochester) because it is filled with so much natural beauty! On our first trip, we traveled north - far north! - for my 30th college reunion. I went to Clarkson University, which is in Potsdam, NY, a small town north of the Adirondacks and close to the Canadian border.
On our way to Potsdam, we stopped at Selkirk Shores State Park for the night (we always travel with our pop-up camper) and enjoyed a gorgeous sunset on the eastern shore of Lake Ontario:

I love your beautiful photos, especially the sunset over Lake Ontario. Looks like a peaceful place, full of natural beauty.
ReplyDeleteMy Saturday Snapshot post features Lake Crescent, Olympic National Park, USA.
I love how you and I get to see opposite sides of the country from our own each Saturday, Sandra!
DeleteLovely. I really want to visit the Great Lakes some day. So far I've only seen Lake Michigan and didn't really experience it.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see more of Lake Michigan. I grew up near Lake Ontario (that was our local beach!), so it's most familiar to me.
DeleteI love how you always find a way to incorporate nature into your life Sue!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good week!
Thanks! I find nature so soothing and peaceful - really helps to "ground me".
DeleteBeautiful pictures! I've only been to New York City (and only for 3 days), but I'd love to explore the state more....
ReplyDeleteIt's a whole big state with SO much variety, Melinda! Funny thing is that I grew up in Rochester (near Buffalo) in the western end of the state, and I could not get the locals in Louisiana (I moved there after college) to understand I wasn't from "the big city"! At that point in my life, I'd never even been to NYC! lol New York has waterfalls and gorges in the Finger Lakes, amazing mountains and lakes in the Adirondacks, and beautiful forests and hills in the Catskills - lots of natural beauty.
DeleteHow lovely. What a perfect place to stop.
