Saturday Snapshot 9/5

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by West Metro Mommy Reads.

No walks this week because I've been very sick - spending my outdoor time lying on the deck! The temperature and humidity finally dropped today (I know I said that before but then it went back into the 90's all this week). Here are a few close-up shots from last week:

Pretty purple flowers (that's the scientific name)

A single green oak leaf

A few dried leaves early in the season

A giant bee enjoying these lovely blooms!

Enjoy this beautiful weekend!

  6. Hope you're feeling better this week. Pigface (last flower) is such a pretty flower with such an un-pretty name!
I think the purple one could be a morning glory or something similar.

    1. Thanks for the flower names! Pigface - hilarious! We had some of that in our garden when I was a kid - I've always liked it.

    1. Sorry to hear that, Julie - always tough to be stuck at home sick on a holiday weekend when everyone else is out doing fun stuff! Hope you are feeling better soon.

  8. Sorry to hear that you've been unwell, I do hope you're on the mend. I do know that your first pretty purple flower is called Morning Glory- sadly viewed as a noxious weed in Australia. I should know the name of the last one but can't remember it just now.

    1. Thanks, Louise! I am terrible at knowing the names of flowers so I always appreciate the info :)
