Snapshot Saturday 8/31

Snapshot Saturday is hosted by West Metro Mommy Reads.

I haven't participated in Snapshot Saturday most of the summer - just too busy with kids home from school, vacations, etc.

So, I thought I'd share some photos from our recent vacation. I thought I'd do some this week and some next week. So, today's photos are from the Cape Cod area, where we camped for 6 days - next week, I'll post pictures from Maine. Hope you enjoy the pics:

My Sons on the Boardwalk in Sandwich, MA

The Sandwich Town Beach - empty on a rainy day!

One of the local residents.

Gorgeous multi-colored rocks just under the clear water.

Morris Island, near Chatham, MA - tide is in!

Our home away from home.

My sons enjoying a beautiful evening on Race Point Beach.

A perfect day on Head of the Meadow beach at Cape Cod.

Enjoying a campfire with my sons after a wonderful day!
Enjoy your holiday weekend!

  1. I love Cape Cod ... it has been my family's fave vacation spot for my entire life. I have such fond memories of many of the beaches and sights that you snapped and shared! Thanks so much for this blast from the past!

It makes me want to plan a trip down this fall! We love Eastham, First Encounter Beach, Nauset Beach, the Audubon Wildlife Refuge, and the dunes out around Truro.

  2. Susan -

We left our camper in Sandwich and spent one night in a hotel in North Truro, surrounded by the dunes! It was all really lovely, though the crowds and traffic were pretty bad.

  3. Terrific photos.

Looks like you had a great time even though I am not a fan of camping. I like my luxuries. :) :)

    Have a great day!!

  4. My mom and dad took me and my brother camping when we were kids and your photos brought back some of my favorite childhood memories.

It looks like you chose a perfect place to camp. Camping AND a beautiful beach...heaven!!

I love that your son has two different colors of shoe laces in the first photo! And those rocks are gorgeous!

I love those colorful rocks! Isn't it great to stumble across something so beautiful that's normally hidden?

  7. Great shots that bring back memories. I enjoyed a visit to Cape Cod a few years ago...and fondly recall a little cafe in Sandwich.

Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.

  8. Not too far from us, Diane - about a 7-hour drive. We stopped at my sister's house in CT on the way. We normally drive out west to OK, SD, CO, NM, etc. for our vacation in the summer, so we consider MA and ME close to home!
